Play is Meaningful Learning
Play is at the heart of childhood. Through play, exploration, creativity, and hands-on experiences, children develop language, problem-solving, social-emotional skills, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning.

I'm a Level 3 Early Childhood Educator, a Licensed Teacher and Registered Nurse in the Philippines, with over 16 years of experience working with children. I spent 10 years working in an established daycare centre in the city, caring for children from infancy through school age, followed by 6 years as a dayhome provider.
I opened Junith's Precious Kids Dayhome to provide a warm, safe, and nurturing home environment where children can learn, play, and grow. I care for a small group from infants to kindergarten, allowing me to truly know each child and provide individualized attention, meaningful learning experiences, and responsive care.
My program is guided by Alberta's FLIGHT Early Learning and Care Framework, Emergent curriculum, and Montessori-inspired practices. Through play, early literacy and phonics, creative arts, sensory exploration, music, outdoor experiences, and practical life skills, my goal is to help every child become confident, independent, kind, curious, and joyful learners.
Play is at the heart of childhood. Through play, exploration, creativity, and hands-on experiences, children develop language, problem-solving, social-emotional skills, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning.
Children thrive when they feel secure and connected. I provide a warm, predictable environment with gentle guidance, positive relationships, age-appropriate boundaries, and opportunities for children to understand and express their emotions.
Every child develops at their own pace and brings their own interests, strengths, culture, and personality. I observe and respond to each child individually, providing experiences that encourage their development without unnecessary pressure or comparison.
Families know their children best. I value open, respectful communication and work closely with parents to support each child’s development, routines, interests, successes, and changing needs.
Children are encouraged to try things for themselves — from making choices and helping with simple routines to solving problems and caring for their belongings. These everyday experiences help build confidence, responsibility, and independence.
Through stories, phonics and early literacy, music, art, sensory experiences, outdoor exploration, and meaningful everyday activities, I help children develop the skills, confidence, and independence they need to be kindergarten and school-ready — while still giving them the freedom to play, explore, and enjoy the wonder of childhood.
Happy to show you any of these at your visit — just ask.
